Lectotype specimen: TCD Herb. Harvey; Trav. Set 224 （Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland）

分類に関するメモ：Suzuki & Terada (2025) は，鹿児島県種子島西岸沖からAcanthophora dendroidesを日本新産種として報告し，「ベニトゲノリ」と名付けました。

著者が報告した種なので，写真を公開したいところなのですが，これまでに1個体しか採集出来ておらず，全ての写真を論文の図版に使ってしまったため，公開出来る写真がありませんでした。
