分類に関するメモ：Wang et al. (2005)によるrbcL遺伝子を用いた分子系統解析では，Dichotomaria marginataは3つのクレードに分かれ，複数の種類を含んでいる可能性が示唆されていました。Fontana et al. (2024) は，北太平洋西岸におけるの分類を整理し，3つのクレードをホソバガラガラ（D. marginata），ヒメガラガラ（D. elegans），ヒロハガラガラ（D. latifolia）に分けました。
